Conservapedia
Conservapedia describes itself thusly:
Conservapedia is a much-needed alternative to Wikipedia, which is increasingly anti-Christian and anti-American… Conservapedia is an online resource and meeting place where we favor Christianity and America. Conservapedia has easy-to-use indexes to facilitate review of topics. You will much prefer using Conservapedia compared to Wikipedia if you want concise answers free of “political correctness”.
Sounds like a sure-fire recipe for hilarity, right? Apparently there are some funny entries, according to this post on BoingBoing. But overall, I was disappointed with the entries for hot-button topics like Jesus and Islam. Even our beloved and fearless international embarassment of a leader
doesn’t get the mindless adoration that he deserves on such a site, though there is at least one mispelling on that page. Not hilarious, but it’s something.
I mean, it promises to favor America and Christianity! There seems to be no such favor here. I think Conservapedia will never be more than a collection of poorly edited articles loosely united in an aimless, impotent protest against what right-wing nuts perceive as the left-wing bias of reality.
At least the name is funny.
